Andy Brockway, who was CTO at Confused.com, has been appointed Chief Technology Officer at Open GI effective immediately.

The move reaffirms Open GI’s commitment to investing in its technology offering and continuing to build on its capabilities to drive innovation for better customer outcomes.

Open GI CEO, Simon Badley, commented: “Andy’s deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and industry insight make him a fantastic addition to our leadership team. We’re excited about the fresh perspective and energy he’ll bring as we enter our next phase of growth.”

“Last year we invested £8.5m in technology and Andy’s appointment underlines that commitment and our role as a friend to the UK broker and MGA market.”

Andy, who will lead Open GI’s technology Directorate, brings with him more than 20 years of experience in technology leadership, digital transformation, and innovation across the Fintech and Insurtech sectors. His impressive track record includes 23 years at Confused.com, where he rose through the ranks from Software Engineer to CTO, driving major technological advancements along the way.

Under his technical leadership Confused.com grew to be one of the most popular aggregators in the UK. The price comparison website now processes up to a million quotes per month and more than a third of insurance buyers use its services.

Most recently, he was the global CTO at Retail Insight, where he led the development of cutting-edge tech solutions for the retail industry.

Andy added: “It’s great to return to insurance and I’m thrilled to be with Open GI. It’s a truly dedicated team, a trusted partner, and they’re doing lots of innovative, exciting work for the UK insurance community. I can’t wait to play a key role in accelerating that innovation further and ensure Open GI continues to be the right tech home for hundreds of brokers and MGAs.”
