Giving something back

Every year we pledge to support a new charitable cause. It’s a commitment that’s important to us as a business – and to each member of the Open GI team.

Our 2017 charity partner: New Hope Worcester

This year our employees have voted to support New Hope, a specialist organisation which works with families of children with disabilities and complex health care needs. The organisation runs a school holiday club and Saturday club throughout the year.

New Hope was established by the inspirational Jean Wilson in 2010 and she continues to work tirelessly with the organisation, providing much-needed care to families and children.

Our 2016 charity partner: St Richard’s Hospice

In 2016 we partnered with St Richard’s Hospice, an independant charity which provides free care for over 2,600 patients and their loved ones who are living with life-limiting illnesses.

We are incredibly proud of our staff who gave up their time volunteering and raising funds for the cause, taking part in rainbow runs, races, skydives, bake sales, raffles, dress-up days and so much more. After a year of fund-raising activities we are thrilled to have been able to present St Richard’s Hospice with a cheque for £31,580.

Take a look below at some of the activities from our year partnering with St Richard’s Hospice.

Our team members took part in many fun and memorable events to raise funds and awareness for the cause including: Worcester 10K, Mud-run, summer fete, Dragon boat racing, cake sales and regular dress down days.

Our 2014 charity partner: Libby Mae’s Little Angels

We do enjoy supporting local community as well as regional causes and in 2014, we exceeded our forecast target for Libby Mae’s Little Angels, a charity supporting 19 neo-natal units in the Midlands. In total, our staff raised an amazing £19,432.05 through a number of fundraising events including a summer fete, charity car wash, sporting events, cake sales and regular dress down days.

In addition to supporting Acorn’s throughout 2012, Open GI also sponsored CCV’s IT Director, Richard Norris, in the Kilimanjaro Summit Challenge to raise funds for the Towergate Charitable Foundation. Open GI staff also took part in an insurance industry, five-a-side football tournament, organised by Markerstudy, and helped to raise £30,000 in support of Help for Heroes and Hampton & Richmond Borough FC.
