Contracts for Open GI’s InfoCentre Management Information (MI) solution are set to double by the end of this year according to the latest figures.
The sharp rise in sales is a clear indication that brokers are turning to MI and business intelligence to help maintain profits. Basic MI has long been a necessity for many firms, enabling them to comply with the increasing pressures of FSA regulation. However, more are now turning to MI tools to drill down further into their business, driving out inefficiency and increasing profits.
For leading software house Open GI, the increasing importance of MI has led to a sharp rise in interest for their InfoCentre solution. Contracts for the software for the first half of this year have already surpassed the total sales count for 2008.
InfoCentre enables the realtime mirroring of business critical information and presents it in Microsoft SQL, an industry recognised format. This format is compatible with common third party data mining applications such as Cognos, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Access and Excel.
Alan Blunden Insurance Brokers have been using InfoCentre since 2006. Director, Nick Blunden said: “We have used InfoCentre far more than I ever anticipated. It provides us with simple management information across all areas of the business that can be viewed in clear, familiar formats such as excel or by using SQL reporting services.
“The reports we have built are in use daily, not only by us as Directors but by every member of our team. Areas such as monitoring our adherence to TCF policy, renewals, diaries, quality control, debtors/creditors and effectiveness of marketing have all been addressed using this software. InfoCentre is one of the most invaluable tools in our firm.”.
For Simon Hughes, Sales and Marketing Director, Open GI, the success of InfoCentre comes as no surprise, he said: “InfoCentre installs intelligence into a business. Its sophisticated measuring and monitoring capabilities provide a clear picture of every aspect of business performance.
“However, the use of InfoCentre is not restricted to report production or the generation of management information. The Microsoft SQL data format allows integration with other applications, such as telephony systems, CRM tools or even company websites for the purpose of providing clients with access to policy information.
“Without a real MI solution such as InfoCentre inefficiencies could lead to brokers leaking thousands of pounds from their business and in today’s market, mistakes are much more costly.”
