National Insurance Signs Multi-Year Deal with Open GI

One of Ireland’s largest brokers, National Insurance, has signed a three year contract with Open GI to upgrade systems across its entire branch network.

The systems will support 22 users across branches in Dublin, Wicklow, Carlow, Limerick and Offaly. The decision by National Insurance to upgrade their Open GI system was based on the platform’s overall ability to support future growth and the company’s market strength.

Included in the contact is the Open GI online quote and buy solution, eBroker for motor and Microsoft-integrated productivity solutions to aid document creation and distribution, both of which link with the core trading system. National Insurance has also signed up for InfoCentre Plus, Open GI’s real-time business intelligence tool.

With over 35 years in the business, the predominantly personal lines broker sources the lowest rates from Ireland’s top insurers, with a Quick Quote service designed to save its customers time when searching for a quote.

Tommy Conway, Director, National Insurance, said: “One of the main factors behind our decision to upgrade our Open GI platform is the number of new solutions available to brokers and the level of focus towards research and development. The Open GI system is the most suited to our needs and the technology will allow us to streamline business processing and help us expand into new markets.

“The efficiencies gained via Open GI will enable staff to work smarter, freeing up time to concentrate on the needs of our policy holders. The contract is not only cost effective, but also gives us peace of mind when it comes to service. By providing remote upgrades and support we can concentrate on core business rather than being concerned with IT.”

Simon Hughes, Sales and Marketing Director, Open GI, said: “National Insurance are one of a number of brokers who have committed to a long term IT partnership with us in recent months. It allows them to get the most out of their IT system, whilst maximising new technologies and minimising costs.

“As one of Ireland’s largest brokers with further growth on the agenda, we are pleased to be part of National Insurance’s development plans. There is currently a great deal of opportunity in the Irish insurance market and we plan to continue to develop new and innovative technology to help brokers utilise this.”
