A group of employees at leading software house Open GI, have completed another demanding charity challenge raising over £1,000 for Midlands Air Ambulance.

The team, led by Technical Consultant Julian Slaughter, (pictured above, far left), completed the strenuous Hadrian’s Wall Cycle Challenge, which involved cycling coast to coast following the historic landmark of Hadrian’s wall in just 24 hours.  The challenge began on the seafront in Silloth and ended 118 miles away in South Shields.

Commenting on the challenge, Julian Slaughter, said: “The Hadrian’s Crawl Cycle Challenge required a great deal of stamina and determination. The team did fantastically well to complete the challenge in 14.5 hours, well under the 24 hour target.”

Chris Guillaume, Managing Director, Open GI, said: “It’s great to see the Open GI team joining forces to undertake demanding challenges for charity. Julian and his team’s effort proved to be an enormous success, helping us to get ever closer to achieving our 2010 fundraising target for Midlands Air Ambulance. Last year the team completed the Three Peaks Challenge so it will be interesting to see what they have in store for next year.

With many more fundraising activities planned for 2010, Open GI employees are aiming to raise £5,000 during the course of the year for their chosen charity, Midlands Air Ambulance.  The Open GI Board will add a further £5,000 if this pledge is reached.
